Regulations and procedures
As members of IATA, our professional team has a detailed knowledge of IATA's Live Animals Regulations (LAR) - the international standard for transportation of live animals by air.
CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is a global agreement between governments. This is in place to regulate the international trade of wild animals, plants, and endangered species, implementing a stringent licensing system of controls around the import and export of listed species. Intradco, and those operating within international animal transportation, have a responsibility to submit the correct documentation for approval prior to transportation.
Accommodating unusual species such as giraffes, elephants, bears, reptiles, alpacas, and rhinos, requires meticulous planning. Our experienced air charter team can offer advice and expert knowledge on the complex, and sometimes challenging, transportation of exotics, working with customers to provide a smooth and safe delivery.
Our dedicated team can construct custom-built containers, and introduce veterinarians that specialise with particular species. We work closely with zoos, agents, and organisations, to ensure the correct paperwork, permits and quarantine procedures are in place.
When transporting wild and endangered species listed on CITES, documentation must be submitted and approved before flying. We have performed hundreds of charters carrying exotics, both big and small, from every continent.
Our team work closely with airlines to ensure we are abiding by IATA Live animal regulations; working with shippers to ensure tanks and transport ULDs replicate the animals’ natural habitat, and to minimise temperature variations.
Larger mammals, require round-the-clock care, and we can always provide our clients with aircraft options that can offer additional seating so that qualified veterinarians and handlers can travel alongside our live cargo.
Aquatics are some of the most time-sensitive cargo, so Intradco always select aircraft and routings that can offer the quickest complete transit time, and reduce the risk of delays.
